Sundown Lodge

I had a wonderful stay on my long drive home from CO. The room was fresh and clean, read some bad reviews before booking, I was pleasantly surprised and also, people can be so negative sometimes it’s honestly depressing. Great place for the value. I will definitely stay here again!

When the temperature reached +120º F my better half and I decided it was time to depart Las Vegas for a cooler destination. Our journey was an undetermined destination further north and higher in elevation than Las Vegas. Our second stop along our journey was Eureka, NV. Since we always travel without reservations we had planned to spend one night in Eureka and move on. In Eureka we happened upon Sundown Lodge and they had a room available. The motel was outstanding, the room was excellent and the rate very good. After settling in our room we explored the town and found the motel was strategically located and all restaurants, bars and other attractions were easily assessable by walking, even by us and we are 84. We quickly fell in love with the town and decided to stay another night; when I went to the office I found that our room had already reserved for that night. The individual diligently worked; including contacting her supervisor by phone, to allow us to stay in our room for another night. After staying that night, we could not bring ourselves to leave the town. So I went to the office to request another night and again they had already reserved our room for that night and it was the same exercise all over again. Words cannot express how great all of the staff is at this motel. We plan to visit Eureka in the future and needless to say I would never consider staying in any other motel. During our stay we ate in every restaurant including the coffee shop and enjoyed all of them. We enjoy small towns with a rich history and laid back atmosphere.

I strongly recommend Sundown to anyone who is looking for a place with above and beyond staff and housekeepers. Brennan, Lily, and even Lily’s brother all offered help the second I asked for it. (It was far too many times to count) Never complained and did it with a smile on their face. Housekeeping gave me a notice on a time they were going to pick up my room. I was told they only had to change the linens, towels, and trash bags. I was extremely happy when I came back to see she went above and beyond. As far location and rooms. It is right in the center of everything there is here. Rooms were very nice. Was even offered hardwood or carpet floors. 10/10 experience

We stayed 4 nights at the Sundown Lodge and it was a nice stay. For what it is, I gave it 5 stars. Meaning it is not new, but room rates under $80 and friendly service make up for it. The rooms were clean enough and the bed was comfortable. It is an older property, and some things are a bit warn, but they are making improvements. The location is nice as it is right in the middle of town which makes it right across the street from a good place to eat. The staff was nice and easy to deal with. We would stay there again if need be.

I can't say enough how helpful and kind they are here!! They were able to help me out last-minute. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Being 5 months pregnant and having a place like this to stay at was such a relief! Brennan at the front desk was so awesome!

Small double room when the prison bed was added but that was in the price. Staff were helpful and food and drink suggestions were bang on. Great location. Everyone should visit Eureka once. Locals recommended other places but I would happily stay again.

CLEAN! I have stayed at several branded hotels during this trip and, while they say/advertise special cleaning since COVID, none of them passed (or met!) my Cootie-O-Phobe cleaning expectations. i usually have to sanitize all the high touch areas before I can settle in. NOT THIS PLACE! Only place so far that has exceeded my OCD clean standards! And no funky chemical room freshener smells either. It is an older property--(which isn't a problem for me but might be for others) but what's here is CLEAN and maintained. I'll take clean over new any day. Another reviewer said hard bed but mine was great--actually the best of trip. My cranky back liked it. The GM Brennan checked me in. Nice kid (I'm old!) Super fast and he cracked me up. He also was a BEST for the trip. I've never done a review (good or bad) but Sundown Lodge earned it. Would totally stay here again.
